2027 Grand Sport.
The Purist's Corvette is Back.
New LS6 engine. Wide body. Track-ready packages. And ALT Forged wheels ready to meet it.
The Grand Sport nameplate is one of the most storied in Corvette history. For 2027, it finally makes its mid-engine debut - and it brought a brand new V8 with it.
Chevrolet officially revealed the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport and Grand Sport X today, March 26, 2026, ahead of the 74th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. The car hit the track in Admiral Blue with a white racing stripe and red hash marks on the rear quarter panels - a direct callback to the legendary C4 Grand Sport livery. And just like every Grand Sport before it, this one lands right in the sweet spot: wider and more aggressive than the Stingray, without the price tag and complexity of the Z06.
But this time around, "Grand Sport" means something bigger. Because Chevy didn't just bring back the body - they built a brand new engine from the ground up to go inside it.

The LS6
By The Numbers
The most torquey naturally aspirated V8 Chevrolet has ever built.

What Makes The
C8 Grand Sport New

Just like every Grand Sport before it, the C8 GS wears the wide body from the Z06. That means wider front and rear fenders, a bigger stance, and the same aggressive aero profile as the flat-plane V8 car - all wrapped around a pushrod V8 at a significantly lower price point.
MRC comes on every Grand Sport right out of the gate, paired with a Touring suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires. The car is engineered to be comfortable enough for a cross-country drive and sharp enough for a canyon run on the same set of wheels.

For the first time ever, a pushrod-powered C8 Corvette gets the four central-exit tailpipes typically reserved for the Z06 and ZR1. The new tri-Y header design on the LS6 flows better than the LT2's four-into-one setup and sounds the part to match.
Chevy brought back Admiral Blue Metallic - the signature color from the C4 era Grand Sport - for 2027. It's available paired with a white center stripe and red hash marks on the rear quarters, recreating one of the most iconic Corvette liveries of all time.

The Z52 Sport Performance Package adds stiffer suspension, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires, and Z06-spec J56 iron brakes. Step up to the Z52 Track Performance Package and you get Pilot Sport Cup 2R rubber, carbon ceramic J57 brakes, carbon fiber aero (splitter, dive planes, wing), and track-tuned chassis settings. Two tiers. Pick your poison.
Chevy designed an exclusive 10-spoke forged aluminum wheel just for the Grand Sport lineup. Available in four finishes: Pearl Nickel, Gloss Black, Carbon Flash with Bright Polished Surfaces, and High Polished. Optional five-spoke carbon fiber wheels are also available in visible carbon or Carbon Flash for those who want to cut weight.

Where The
Grand Sport Sits
| Model | Engine | Drive | HP | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stingray | 6.7L LS6 V8 | RWD | 490 HP | Base model, narrow body |
| Grand Sport New | 6.7L LS6 V8 | RWD | 535 HP | Wide body, MRC standard |
| Grand Sport X New | LS6 + Front e-Motor | eAWD | 721 HP | Replaces E-Ray, hybrid AWD |
| Z06 | 5.5L LT6 Flat-Plane V8 | RWD | 670 HP | Track-focused, more exotic |
| ZR1 / ZR1X | LT7 Twin-Turbo V8 | RWD / eAWD | 1,064 HP | Halo model, supercar territory |
The Grand Sport X adds the ZR1X's front-axle electric motor to the LS6, creating an eAWD system with 721 combined horsepower. It replaces the Corvette E-Ray and brings more power, more traction, and better branding. The outgoing E-Ray ran 0-60 in 2.5 seconds with 670 hp. Expect the Grand Sport X to be quicker. Available as a coupe or convertible, same as the standard GS.
